World War 1 - Joseph Brayton Scott

Joseph Brayton Scott was born on 11th November 1898 in Leeds, Yorkshire. He moved with his family to Birkenhead and in 1916 he enlisted in the army. At that time he was living at 14 Ivydale Road. The family moved to 3 Stuart Road, Higher Tranmere, and were living there when Brayton was killed on 27th May 1918. He is buried at Soissons Memorial CWGC Cemetery/Memorial Aisne France.

We have no record of the dates of his attendance at the Birkenhead Institute, but we do have a copy of one of his English excercise books dated 1915/1916, copied below.
